This is the screening of one of the most famous narratives by Nikolai
Gogol, "Taras Bulba". The development of the plot brings us back to one
of the hardest periods in the history of Russian's Cossaks when Zaporoghian
Cossaks rose against Rzeczpospolita (Republic of Poland). The family of
one of the Cossak leaders, Taras Bulba, is at the heart of the story.
Bulba goes through a deep drama: his son Andriy fell in love with a
Polish princess and betrayed Cossak brotherhood. Taras declares his
paternal will to his son.
